Mawamba Lodge Tortuguero

Signature

Katonga — Costa Rica's only navigating floating restaurant.

One of a kind in the country. The only floating restaurant that also navigates the river while you enjoy a four-course chef's menu on board. Two hours on the canals, a meal you'll remember — not just dinner, an unforgettable experience.

Three services, every day.

Sunset
4:30 – 6:00 p.m. · minimum 6 people
Dinner

Each service lasts about two hours on the water.

Capacity & reservations.

We only have 6 tables — up to 24 guests total. Because it's a one-of-a-kind activity, it fills up fast. We strongly recommend booking ahead via WhatsApp.

Self-guided dining experience — there's no naturalist guide on board.

Lunch and dinner are full four-course meals. The sunset service includes a snack from the chef and one drink. Wines, cocktails, and soft drinks are available on board (not included in the price).

Rain or shine.

Katonga operates in the rain — that's part of the rainforest. We only cancel for extreme wind or severe weather conditions.

What's on the menu?

Lunch and dinner are a four-course tasting from the chef (rotates with the season and the daily market). Ask us over WhatsApp for the current menu — we can send it as a downloadable PDF.
